When it comes to fashion I love texture whether it be a pebble leather, fur (vintage or faux of course), a little velvet, or some luxurious cashmere. I love mixing a few different textures together together too because it adds different dimensions to an outfit. Naturally then I'm a fan of the latest The Row collection as it encompasses this. I've adored the Olsen Twins since the days of watching "Off to Grandma's House We Go" & "The Little Rascals" and love seeing their unusual ensembles. They are incredibly stylish without being followers of the pack. I admire their style because they take risks and incorporate vintage. I keep their book "Influence " by my bed, it never disappoints when seeking a little outfit inspiration.

This is my favourite look from Jill Stuart's Fall collection. It's super cute, yet sexy. Loving the combination of the red wrap dress, teamed with the brown fur scarf, & black booties with socks. Hurry up Sydney winter - not that the weather is exactly summery at the moment anyway!

Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture Fall 2010

My pal Sam and I had our eyes glued to the TV as we watched Jean Paul Gaultier's Haute Couture Fall 2010 make an appearance on FTV last night. I can't believe it was the first time this collection caught my eye because it's oh so amazing! It is the essence by French chic. Where else but Paris would you find models smoking cigarettes on holders on the runway? Not that I'm endorsing smoking. It is a filthy habit. But it definitely gives the collection a Cruella de Vil like quality. I was obsessed with her as a child - carrying around my drawn sketches of her in an elegant folio in various animal print ensembles. The turbans and red lips add that fantastic theatrical element to the collection that I adore so much. And you can't get a better stage beauty than Dita Von Teese. I love the various styles of pumps (particularly the t-bar ones), the use of sheer black fabric, velvet, fur, fishnet and lace legwear.  Magnifigue!

Fashion Gone Rogue

Absolutely loving the styling in this editorial in the mecca of glossies, Vogue Paris. The ed is called L’hiver Avant L’hiver which according to an online French-English translation means 'The winter before winter". Note: French speakers, if I am mistaken, please correct me. I think it is a fantastic title for displaying the trends of the upcoming winter in Europe. Carine Roitfeld is such an amazing stylist. I admire the way she always pushes the boundaries and creates such dramatic looks. It's great to see Aussie swimwear label, Speedo featuring in the Oscar de la Renta & Burberry looks.

Lily's outfit is perfection. It's the perfect blend of femininity and grunge. A rather simple look combining ankle boots, shinny skinny leg pants, a white t, black fur, a chunky metal neckpiece and utility coat to create the ultimate streetwear look. Her sleek tied back hair and clean makeup complements the look so well. Of late, I've found myself adding a grunge element to an otherwise polished look, may it be a shaggy fur, worn boots, metal chains or a utility coat or shirt. This pic has inspired me to further embrace utility pieces in a chic way :)

M O D E L S

It has been freezing in Sydney over the last week or so. Anyone reading this who lives in the far Northern Hemisphere is probably laughing at my prior statement but trust me - it does get cold here! I have been to Europe and Canada in the middle of winter and even my teeth are chattering here in Sydney. That's not to say I don't love the cold weather. I do. Maybe not the cold bit. As for the cute hats, chunky scarfs, beautiful woollen coats and amazing furs - I couldn't love it more :) If only I could actually get away with wearing ear warmers to uni, without people giving me sidewards glances, I would be one incredibly happy, fashion obsessed girl. Naturally then, I am loving this shoot from the latest Vogue Nippon. Those braids and ear warmers for Dolce and Gabbana are super cute! Same goes for those sweet pom-pom jackets for Giorgio Armani. Thanks to Burberry, it looks likes sheep fleece clothing and accessories are going to be the IT style this winter. At first I was hesitant, but as the temperature drops, the trend is definitely growing on me. Back to those ear warmers, I think I'm going to have to get a pair! I can't resist. People can stare all they like.

Need inspiration for an outfit? Look no further than stylist & fashionista Christine Centenera. I love the way she mixes mini dresses, ankle boots and coats for the ultimate on-trend look, but in a way that makes it look effortless. With Christine, it's all about the clothes. Hair and make-up are kept simple in order to give the clothes full effect. I find her style very wearable in the scheme of what it worn to the fashion shows. I'm not sure if I could get away with wearing trackies with a fur coat and heels, but I  think she can get away with it. It's great to see an Australian magazine stylist in the spotlight at the shows.
