Australia's Next Top Model Final Tonight!

I'm so excited to watch the final of Australia's Next Top Model. I think it's going to be so close. I can't decide between the girls so much that I haven't actually voted yet. I simply cannot pick one. Amanda, Sophie & Kelsey each have their strengths and weakness. Amanda is an all rounder - she can do both catwalk & photoshoot, and both commercial and high fashion. From memory she has won the most challenges of the girls and I would say she probably has the greatest chance of winning. Although, personally I find her a little boring looks wise and her personality a little flat. Sophie on the other has an enormous personality. Up until last week she was my fav top model after Kathryn, but I found her just too full of herself on the Harper's Bazaar shoot. However, the girl does have most amazing eyes, the determination and has definitely improved the most throughout the competition. And then there's Kelsey. I must say after not particularly liking her through the season, the girl has really grown on me. She always looks amazing in photoshoots, is determined but not cocky, and she isn't even that short! It will be really interesting to see who the public chooses to win.

As a side note, it was great to see Harper's Bazaar Stylist, Christine Centenera, in action last week. I must say she was nothing like what I imagined. I was surprised by her bluntness. The girl in the pictures in the amazing outfits seems so much less opinionated and more easy going. But I guess that's how you have to be to survive in the fashion fashion industry...

Kelsey - she looks so amazing that I think she will have to get my vote

I can't wait to see the winner's cover & editorial in Harper's Bazaar Australia!

Australia's Next Top Model

I've become obsessed with watching Australia's Next Top Model on Tuesday nights. This is the first season I've watched of the series for more than a few minutes. I've watched bits and pieces of the American series, but I had never been all that keen on the Australian series - until now that is! My favourite model was Kathryn. I was so disappointed to see her leave the show last week. There is something so chic and sweet about her. My second favourite is Sophie. She has a great look about her and such a determined personality. She has transformed so much from the beginning of the series and her new hair cut looks fabulous. One of my favourite things about the show it how it has incorporated the girls meeting various designers and photographers. I loved the episode where the girls went down to Melbourne and met the designers of J'Aton & Alannah Hill, and last week's yacht shoot with Georges Antoni. Another favourite episode was when the girls were in the Bonds show at the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival. I'm also a massive fan of Alex Perry's creations, so it's great to see him on the show. And how could I forget to girl's mentor Josh Flinn - he is just too cute.

Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival 2010

So it's been a while since my last post. Between my internet being down and the rush to get my law assignment done, it's been hard to fit in time for posts. But the internet is back now, assignment handed in and I'm eager to share all the things I've come across in the last week.

Back on Saturday 28th August, my pal Amy and I attended the closing show at the Rosemount Sydney Fashion Festival at Town Hall. We had been looking forward to the festival for months. The show we attended featured Australian designers Dion Lee, Ellery (one of my favs designers), Friedrich Gray, Gail Sorronda, Konstantina Mittas, Lui Hon, Romance was Born, Wonderland, Stolen Girlfriends Club and Therese Rawsthorne.

Before the show, we checked out the Fashion Hub where we sipped on fruity Rosemount O Wine, took some photos on the red carpet (all of which I look shocking in) and had a walk around to check out the various stands. I was amazed to see how stylish everyone looked and how many good looking straight guys were in attendance - tight fitting black suits and suede lace up shoes seemed to be their outfit of choice. There were some gorgeous dresses about, especially from Camilla and Marc's latest collection.

The stage for the show looked amazing in Sydney's grand Town Hall. The contrast of the modern & simple stage and seating, up against the elaborate historic building was breathtaking. There were a great selection of looks from the designers and the models were fantastic. I had already seen the collections before in magazines, on blogs etc, but it was great to see them in the flesh. The Sydney Fashion Festival has become an avenue for designers to showcase their latest collections, which are currently in store, in attempt to entice you to buy them. So now I further enticed to buy at least one piece from the Ellery Spring Collection I've been drooling over the last few months....

I will definitely be revisiting the festival next year!

P.S. I still haven't managed to get my camera sorted. Please excuse the poor quality.

Pics I've sourced from the net of the various shows:
