The Fantasy Bowl of Super Basketball

Hey everybody! Well we've finally entered the final week of the NFL season, Super Bowl Week, and that means talk about the Packers and Steelers...right? To me, there's plenty of articles out there already saying everything about the big game from A to Z, so why another one? There's plenty of pregame airtime on Sunday for me to catch up on everything that went on during the week and during the entire season. Aaron Rodgers and Ben Roethlisberger's life stories will be gone over 12 times each, along with every role player's story on either side. I'm not downgrading the Super Bowl, but there's something else I wanted to get started on here in my blog today and that is my Fantasy Basketball update that I'll be writing on a semi-regular basis. It should be both informative and give you all hopefully something to rant and rave at me about.

I have to admit that I was a little late getting into the fantasy basketball game this season. I know, my bad, my bad. Now that I've hit my stride I'm enjoying it more than ever, especially observing the ebb and flow of the year now that football is almost over. There has been a score of injuries so far as is usual for most professional leagues, but a recent one that is hurting my team is the injury of Deron Williams. This man is a double-double (points, assists), if not a triple-double machine and keeps the Jazz in all numbers of games that they shouldn't have been very involved in.
Just last night Utah lost to Houston at home, that's right I said at home, 97-96, due mostly to Williams' absence. I guess Deron was okay in college at Illinois, but what he has become in the Association is madness. He's become one of the best point guards in the game, and at his 6'5 height, that's not easy. He, Dee Brown, and Luther Head took Illinois to the Final Four behind Bruce Weber and he's liable to take Utah there too as soon as some of the bigger names in the West get too old to compete. Anyway, I'm being tangential, so back to my fantasy team!
Some of the best players on my team are Blake Griffin, Russell Westbrook, Tyreke Evans, Andrea Bargnani, Roy Hibbert, Rashard Lewis, Demar Derozan, and Grant Hill. The other players include Tony Parker, Kyle Lowry, and Darko Milicic (that's right, I said it).
I was pretty close to the basement when I started updating my team on a day to day basis with waiver wire transactions and starting lineup changes, but now I'm up into 4th and climbing steadily. There is a 10 point difference between me and the next guy ahead of me so it might take about a month to get up in the top three, but winning is my ultimate goal!!
I didn't know they had this but on Yahoo! they have a fantasy sports profile set up for you if you've every played a fantasy game on Yahoo! it's on your history. Check it out if you haven't already, it's pretty cool.
